Debbie graduated from the University of Western Australia with a degree in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2018. Prior to this she completed 3 years of Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Science.
Since graduating she has worked in a number of healthcare settings. These include private practises, nursing homes and retirement villages across Perth. She now has nearly 3 years of experience working as a Podiatrist and have gained extensive knowledge and skills in the treatment of lower limb conditions.
Debbie is a caring and friendly Podiatrist, and she strongly believes in providing a thorough and holistic approach to treating lower limb conditions, as every individual is unique and must be treated in their own way. She is passionate about treating all areas of lower limb conditions, particularly general foot care, diabetic foot assessment and management, musculoskeletal conditions, prescription of foot orthoses, and ingrown toenail treatments and surgery.
Over the last three years Debbie has attended numerous conferences and continuing education events to continuously update and polish her knowledge and skillset to ensure that she provides the most up to date and evidence-based practise. These include as the annual Podiatry WA day, Diabetic foot conference, and more recently a workshop on the latest 3D printed custom foot orthoses.
Debbie migrated to Australia with her family over 17 years ago from China, and Perth is where they have lived for the past 15 years. As a result, she speaks both fluent Mandarin and English.
Outside of work Debbie enjoys the outdoors. These include activities such as hiking, cycling and playing social badminton. As she leads such an active lifestyle, she has also experienced first-hand and seen many feet related conditions from herself and the people around her. Through this she has furthered her understanding of the importance of our feet and the need to care for them.
When she is home, she also enjoys taking the time to relax, spend time with family and friends, and work on her other hobby-painting. Debbie likes to do a variety of portraits, landscapes and abstract art with the use of different paint medium such as acrylic, watercolour and oil.
